You are what you eat. That's what they said, wasn't it? Tiny Glumdrop the minidragon had heard that, anyway. He didn't quite know what they meant by it. All he knew was, he was looking forward to Halloween. Really, really, a lot.

Last Halloween, as he had scurried around the city streets in the wake of trick-or-treaters with goody-sacks of questionable integrity, he'd come across a sweet-smelling confection that was music to his eyes. Like a tiny discarded autumn rainbow, the oranges and yellows had shone up at him from the sidewalk. As with most things of a certain size which he encountered, he'd put it immediately into his mouth.

Oh, heaven. The pearly gates themselves surely would not taste this wonderful. He followed along behind the treat-dropping children, snagging the only bits that were small enough - and perfect enough - to slip out of the tiny holes in their bags.

Shortly thereafter, Glumdrop developed a bit of a... problem. His normally-golden spikes had taken on a bit of an odd white-tipped orange tinge. His feet seemed to -stutter- when he walked. He dreamed elaborate candy corn dreams.

It took his family weeks to get him to stop jittering and raving. They had to restrain him from trying to devour his own horns. It was months before they could get him to go back to eating shrews and mice like a normal minidragon.

Well through his recovery, one of Glumdrop's cousins made the mistake of letting slip that Halloween came around no less than once a year.

His preparations for debauchery began...
