My Apple's Belly Button

Browsing produce at the store, amidst all of its majestic and whole brethren, this apple was the only one with a noticeable defect. Being filled with defects myself, I felt drawn to it. It came home with me.

I used to think of the "bottom" of the apple, where the flower petals would have been, as the belly button.

Now I think of that part as its anus. For I have seen the true apple belly button. And it is beautiful.

And delicious.
