Unusual things happen in the mind of a wizard as he ages, living alone in his cavernous rooms where rats chew on yellowing pages, candles flicker, and knocks on the door are few and far between. A longing for companionship tickles at the mind, but along with that is the gnawing knowledge that not many creatures would willingly tolerate the reclusive mannerisms of an old spell-maker.
Why bother with all of the fuss of inviting people to tea when a companion could be created to specifications instead?
Thus, this tiny dragon was made. Metal bits and pieces, gears, gemstones and trinkets; even a winding knob hidden carefully under the left wing, within reach of the dragon itself so it can wind up when it feels its energy ebbing... better yet, the thing won't defecate on the scrolls.
This little dragon is hand-sculpted from polymer clay, painted with copper color and given an aged look. Watch gears and cogs appear on his snout, head, sides, front, and appear as "spikes" down his back. Alternating with the "spikes" are yellow topaz-colored Swarovski crystals (totaling a lucky seven). Nestled under his left wing is a watch-winder.
He appears to be sitting and awaiting his wizard's instructions, taking everything in! Give the right command, and perhaps...?
