...the new American Gladiators. I'm a total dork but I loved the original American Gladiators as a kid. This new show is too much like (the fake kind of) wrestling with all of the fakeness and posturing I remember it being a lot more fun and more sports-announcery (and watching a few old clips on YouTube, I'm glad to see I am not mis-remembering). I didn't watch last season because I just didn't have time, but I watched this week's episode and it was really dumb and I don't like any of the new gladiators. I miss Laser and Nitro ;__;

You know what else sucks? AUGH I have too many commissions to do and I keep getting inspired to do OTHER things. My stupid muses are JERKS. I hate them.

Okay here are some things that do not suck!

Okay, this one... drove me nuts, because I swear to anything I used to have a toy... plush lizard or frog or something? Maybe? that I thought had a clock inside it/its mouth? That had a similar color/patterning. And it's driving me nuts because no amount of googling has helped me find it so now I think I maybe just imagined it! See what kind of madness you wreak with your octobracelet, ~Darmael?


And ~dev-chieftain went deep-sea diving and took a snapshot of what the bottom looks like! Woot!

That stuff in the bag is to be blamed fully on *NycterisA. She told me yesterday that I could spit in a bag and people would +fave it. (I'm still not sure whether that was a compliment or not. I don't think I would feel too great about myself if a lot of people faved something like that...)

So I put a bunch of Lucky Charms marshmallows in my mouth to see what color it would turn (apparently they are made of mostly blues and yellows) and spit in the bag. Don't worry, I didn't put it in my gallery. I don't think anyone guessed correctly but with what color it was I didn't expect you to

Less delightfully, I am trying to decide between two species of roach for feeding to my geckos. I am sick of running to the store or ordering new crickets - crickets die easily, they aren't terribly cheap, and they smell terrible which makes breeding them a ludicrous notion in a regular home like mine.

I am hearing good things about both Blatta lateralis and Blaptica dubia (I hope I have the names right; I only know "lateralis" and "dubia"). The problem is, different people say different things about which roach to go with for cresties. Some say dubia don't crawl up glass/terrariums so they are ideal, others say they do crawl AND they hide faster than lateralis. Lateralis breed faster than dubia, but that means you can get overrun easily and have to resort to culling and I hate killing things unnecessarily. Dubia get too large for cresties to consume at their adult stage so again, culling. Lateralis are faster and harder to corral.

I think I am going to make a coin with "dubia" and "lateralis" on either side and just flip it.

This frustration in not being able to choose had me dreaming of being overrun by roaches last night.

Not a pleasant experience, but nothing that had me waking up in cold sweats. I think I can handle a roach colony. I think I can, I think I can.

~MsMaryMak made an adorable octo-couple holding hands, er, tentacles. Hm... what do octopuses on a date do? I assume drive-in theater visits could lead to some dangerous groping and hickeys...


And ~Goagleon made this ominous vampire squid! If you're feeling brave enough, you can flip it over and see the mouth parts. I don't think I'd EVER feel brave enough.

I was feeling bummed because nobody was buying my prints! But when I checked again today it seems that the "stats" page was slow in updating, and I have made some sales after all! So thank you! It doesn't tell me who bought what though, so if you take a pic of yourself or your wall or whatever with the print you bought and Note it to me, I'll feature you/some of your deviations :3 *happy face*
